About The Managers
Hieu Nguyen
Hieu Nguyen is a Managing Partner and has served as a Portfolio Manager at XSTAR since its inception in 2017. He has 15 years of experience as a senior software engineer at large tech companies and startups, developing Software-as-a-Service products for enterprises. Prior to founding XSTAR, he managed his personal stock portfolio and invested in the U.S. equity market from 2005 to 2016. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Tan Nguyen
Tan Nguyen is a Managing Partner and has served as a Portfolio Manager at XSTAR since 2021. Previously, he was a senior analyst at the then $50B+ Invesco Oppenheimer Developing Markets Fund (NASDAQ: ODMAX) in 2012-2021, specializing in Financials and Technology. During 2010-2012, he was a management consultant at Bain & Company. He earned Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Mr. Trung-Ha Nguyen
Member of Advisory Board since December 2021
Mr. Nguyen was born in 1962. He graduated with a degree in theoretical mathematics from Moscow State University in 1986. He is a renowned business advisor and an experienced investor in over 30 businesses in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen is the Chairman and Founder of Thien Viet Securities Company (TVS), a leading full-service investment bank in Vietnam. In addition, Mr. Nguyen is a founding member of FPT Corporation and Asia Joint Stock Commercial Bank (ACB), the largest IT services company and a leading private bank in Vietnam, respectively. He also serves on the Boards of Directors of Thien Ngan Company (Galaxy Group), Goldsun Focus Media (GFM) and many other businesses.
